Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the quality management system for the aerospace business unit.
  • Ensure accurate records such as traceability, process control etc, are maintained.
  • Maintain AS9100 policies, procedures, and documentation to meet accreditation requirements.
  • Provides the necessary training to employees as required to meet AS9100 standards.
  • Interacting with the General Manager and Plant Manager as a central point for document movement, which may include data entry or reviewing documents for accuracy.
  • Manage Corrective Action Report (CAR’s) and Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR’s) as required.
  • Assists QC Department to ensure measuring tools are calibrated and are in the recorded/maintained in the company electronic calibration system.
  • Interacts with all departments concerning supplier and customer quality issues.
  • Follow applicable statutory and regulatory requirements (i.e., encrypted document, ITAR, etc.)
  • Understands company goals and objectives.
  • Follow company quality policies and procedures.
  • Support and/or participate in the organization’s Continuous Improvement Program(s)

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 and experience in obtaining/maintaining AS9100/ISO 9001 accreditation.
  • Experience in a managing a QMS in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of specifications and tolerances preferred.
  • Management experience.
  • Knowledge of metal material types / various alloys and specifications preferred.
  • ERP knowledge preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to details.

Qualifications

At a minimum, the Aerospace Quality Manager must have an associate degree, or equivalent years of experience, in a related field of study along with 5+ years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment and proven knowledge of (raw) metal materials/various alloys and specifications. Additional internal audit and ISO 9001 or AS9100 knowledge and experience is required.
